A live performer, producer, and DJ, variable_self is known for blending vintage and modern sounds into sets and performances that push both energy and emotion—from melancholic introspection to peak-time euphoria. With a deep passion for 303s and hardware, their live acid bass jams have lit up Bristol institutions like Motion, The Love Inn, Lost Horizon, and Exchange, as well as their residency at the Red Room.

 

Their last EP, BDGRL SDGRL, showcased experimental textures and spaced-out vocals crafted on vintage machines. Now, with the Stone Jam EP on Remmah, variable_self sharpens their signature style: lush synths, driving drum machines, deep basslines, and unmistakable acid melodies.
